Water and fertilization
Strawberries are susceptible to water shortage and superfluous water. Without adequate rain and the availability of good quality water it is thus impossible to grow strawberries. Nor can one cultivate strawberries on wet land.
Often stable manure is used prior to planting in soil-bound cultivation. Afterwards manure is regularly added during cultivation. This is often done using irrigation among the plants, which means that fertilizers are immediately applied to the plant's root, resulting in optimum use. A certain amount of fertilizer added to each drip irrigation. The composition of this mixture changes as growing progresses.
