Jan Engelen is currently head of marketing and sales at Veiling Hoogstraten, a major player in the fresh produce world. Veiling Hoogstraten is a cooperative society for the sale of horticultural products. In the field of strawberries Hoogstraten® is a top player, on European level as well. Hoogstraten® strawberries are the pride of the auction.
Jan Engelen started his career in 1998 at the editorial board of Proeftuinnieuws. A publication appealing to both fruit and vegetable producers and associated agribusiness. In 2000 Jan worked for Syngenta Seeds as a sales representative in Belgium and the Netherlands. In 2002, he became Business Development Manager for Syngenta Seeds after which he joined Veiling Hoogstraten in 2005.
