Philippe Chartier is in charge of the breeding programme for strawberries at Ciref(France), which is the national professional association for strawberry breeding. He has graduated from the Agronomy Engineering School of Purpan in Toulouse and has specialized in plant physiology and plant breeding. He spent more than 20 years as breeder, station manager and Europe/USA coordinator in crops, mainly on sunflower, corn and sweet corn, always in close connection with the growers. He is member of the scientific committee for the national raspberry breeding programme and is involved in several European project as the main partner of the National Agronomic Research Institute (INRA) for strawberry research. |
