As a fashion city Antwerp owes its reputation to the pioneers of the fashion movement, the so-called 'Antwerp Six'. Together they conquered the fashion world with their very distinct vision of fashion. Belgian fashion is anchored in Antwerp. The Fashion Museum opened its doors in September 2002. The MoMu collection features a very diverse collection of clothing, lace, embroidery, fabrics and tools for artisan textile processing. The museum pursues a dynamic and changing exhibition policy and wants to create a context for fashion and clothes behaviour.
