Smakelijke Hoogstraten tomaten zijn het hele jaar door verkrijgbaar. De zomermaanden kennen natuurlijk de grootste aanvoer. Maar dankzij teelt met belichting kan je er ook tijdens de feestdagen van genieten.
Onze tomaten worden enkel in serres op hoogte geteeld. Zo hangen de rijpe vruchten altijd naar beneden, op plukhoogte en de bloemen voor bestuiving bovenaan. Substraatteelt is regel in de hedendaagse tomatenteelt. De planten staan niet meer met hun wortels in de grond; ze wortelen in bodems, gemaakt van steenwol of kokos.
